Spreyton Guest House
Keeping you and us Covid-19 Safe

Fact Sheet/ Guest Charter

Dear Guests,

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Spreyton Guest House this Summer.  We understand that many of you may have some apprehension about your visit so, for the sake of clarity and your peace of mind, we have put together the following document to inform you of the measures we have put in place ready for your stay. We kindly ask you that you take the necessary time to read it and then to sign the registration form on arrival, to accept and adhere to the measures throughout your stay.

Over recent weeks we have been busy assessing our guest house operations and making certain adaptations to the offering in the interests of keeping us all as safe as possible.  We have been doing this with the aim of still providing the high level of service and hospitality that our valued guests rightly expect and deserve.

Our Legal position

  • Spreyton Guest House has specific responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended). Please note that Spreyton guest house does not accept bookings from thoese wishing to self isolate.

So, a few general points to start:

  • We expect that some of the measures listed below will change as time goes by and all aspects of COVID-19 safety protocols are constantly under review.
  • We will be operating the guest house on a reduced capacity as we open up next month.
  • Whilst social distancing measures are in place the property will be limited to our resident guests.
  • Whilst on holiday with us, we ask for everyone to be mindful and respectful of other guests and ourselves.
  • If, prior to setting off on your journey to Spreyton, you or any member of your household are feeling unwell, or are exhibiting symptoms, such as a high temperature, persistent coughing, loss of sense of smell or taste, or have done in the previous 14 days, or indeed been with someone who has symptoms, please stay at home. Telephone us or your booking agent to rearrange your stay or cancel your booking entirely under our booking terms for free cancelation. Should you show any Covid-19 related symptoms upon arrival at the guesthouse, in the interests of the safety of everyone, we will ask you to leave immediately without checking in.
  • Once here, we ask that you kindly adhere to the signage throughout the guesthouse.
  • During your stay we strongly advise you to wash your hands with soap and hot water thoroughly, for at least the recommended 20 seconds, as often as is practicable, but especially before entering the dining area.

The Guest House Team

  • We will follow a policy of no physical contact and maintain social distancing, wherever possible…. please do not think we’re being impolite!
  • You may see us wearing enhanced protective equipment where necessary. Much of this will be behind the scenes in areas such as the kitchen and housekeeping. We will do as much as necessary and required whilst trying to avoid too much of a clinical environment.
We have undergone comprehensive hospitality-focused training on how to prevent the contagion of Covid-19. We will continue to evaluate our training as best practices evolve.

Booking & Pre-arrival

We ask you to double check all details of your stay. It is very important that we have a full and detailed understanding of your specific requirements particularly with regard to bedroom configurations and allergies at this point.  On the day of your arrival we will send you an email asking you to please agree the amount due to settle your account in full, you will then need to click on the ‘agree tab’ and follow the instructions. This will enable us to check you in as quickly and efficiently as we can when you do arrive.

Upon arrival please wait in the porch, as one couple at a time is to be registered. We will try to keep contact as minimal as possible and it will be helpful to have your estimated time of arrival, so we can control the number of guests checking in at one time.

Your arrival form will be pre-printed and will be presented for a signature. There are hand sanitisers on reception and we ask you to use these as often as required and especially on arrival and prior to checking in. When going to your room, please use the stairs and keep left. Your room key will be given to you on check in, keep your room key on your person and please leave your room key on the side table in your room on departure so they may be sanitized for the next guests arriving.

Should you require assistance from reception during your stay, then please telephone from your room to avoid gatherings at reception.

Public Areas

All door handles and shared surfaces (“touch points”) will be extensively cleaned and sanitised throughout the day. We have enhanced our cleaning procedures.

Breakfast

Our usual breakfast time is no longer available. Your breakfast time slot will be allocated on arrival, for the duration of your stay, so as to allow for the required social distancing measures to be adhered to. The breakfast will be served to you, as usual. A selection of cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt all individual and covered will be available from the buffet table. If you require one of our alternatives please order this by phone before 8.30pm the day before.

The tea and coffee facilities in your room may need a top up, please ask at breakfast time and we will take your top up order.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Each room has been deep cleaned and sanitised prior to your arrival - this will take a little longer than normal so we ask for your patience if your room is not ready by 3pm.
Daily room servicing will only be available for stays of more than 3 nights and then only upon request by such guests. If you should require this service, rooms will need to be vacant and personal items including toiletries stowed away.

The Guest Information will be emailed to you on your day of arrival as the Information Booklet will no longer be in your room.

Our aim is to ensure the safest environment possible for you. In the event a guest has symptoms during their stay, they will be asked to return home as soon as possible, the room will then be sealed for 72 hours and not let until it has been deep cleaned.

Checkout

When you depart, please leave your keys on the side table in your room. If you require help with your luggage please leave it outside your room and contact reception when you have vacated and are ready to depart.  We can only handle suitcases, holdalls and closed bags.
